SHOPPER QUESTIONS

Do I have to register to shop?
You DO NOT have to register to view the items for sale. Use “Add to Cart” button when you see an item you want to purchase or consider purchasing. You will see the words “You Have _ Items in Your cart” on your Home (opening) PAGE. When you are ready to check out you can either use the “Buy This 1 Item” or “Go to Register”. You will need to fill out a standard form with your name, address, email address and payment information.

When I purchase an item what happens next?
The item will become a “Pending Sale” item and no longer offered to other buyers. Both you and the dealer will receive an email with a web link. The dealer will then update the link providing the cost for shipping, insurance and/or sales tax. You will get another “UPDATED” email with the new information.

It takes at least a month for search engines to index your listings. We advertise in the trade publications, so new shoppers will visit daily. Sales are dependent on the current trend of collecting, condition of your item, and pricing. The important thing to remember is that people who shop icollect247.com are interested in vintage items and know that we have reputable dealers.

How does a sale take place?
When a buyer finds an item they wish to purchase, they will “Add to Cart” however the purchase is not final, until they fill out the buyer’s form. You will be notified by email when this commitment to buy is made. Log in and use the “Retrieve Questions and Order” to add shipping, insurance and sales tax (if it applies). Then click “Send Invoice” The buyer will then get an email letting them know you have updated the order.

IMPORTANT: If the Buyer has shown that they wish to use Pay Pal it will be less confusing if you go to your Pay Pal account and click the tab “Request Money”. Then click on the “Create Invoice” and fill in the blanks. They can make payment and feel comfortable that they are sending their money to the correct email address.

IMPORTANT: If you accept credit cards and the buyer has indicated that he/she wants to pay via credit card, you will need to either call or email requesting the credit card information.

In either case, it is important that you also contact the buyer via a personal email with your phone # and mailing address. Why ? Some people have their email set up with an automatic responder, and to get through to the person, you need to verify you are not “junk mail”. Our system will not respond and you will never get payment.

If payment is not received in a timely manner, you may also use the “Send 2nd Invoice”.

What if I am out of town, on vacation, or doing a show?
To hold all your inventory, “Log in”, “Manage Listings” “Edit Items” and click the button “HOLD ALL”. Your items are held in our “Data Base” but not shown to the shopper. To de-activate “Log in”, “Manage Listings” “Edit Items” and “De-Activate”.

If you want to send your item to auction, but not sure if it will sell, use your “HOLD ME” button to the right of the title. It will take it off the Public Viewing but not off your data base. All you need to do is to click on the “Activate Me” to put it back for sale.

Remember, that your Web Store rent is still due, so don’t delay long in getting your site back selling for you when you get back home.

Can I close my shop and reopen later?
Should you want to take some time off and do not wish to continue your web store, we will close your store upon request. We do not give refunds for partial months. All of your inventory will be deleted within 24 hours. If you wish to open your store again, you will need to register again as a “New Shop” and add items again. We do not keep your data base on file.
