This is an unusual antique candy container box in the shape of a book, circa 1890's.This item is not marked, but is most likely German made. The cardboard candy box has a pasted down color lithograph of two Victorian era children with boats by the water. The box is covered in a copper colored highly decorative embossed foil paper all the way around the sides and back. The top is hinged as if it were a book. Inside The box the gift giver wrote To Maude From Sadie. It is in very good plus condition with minor wear at the hinge and corners. Measures 5 inches high X 4 inches wide and is 1 inch deep.
