ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This is a beautiful antique German made pull toy of a horse on a wooden platform, CA early 1900's. It is fabulously done in detailed carved wood with a cover of rustic brown burlap, which gives it a great deal of individual character. The hooves and the snout are hand carved and painted. The face of this horse is just simply sweet, with metal studs for eyes. The original leather ears are present. The harnesses, bit, saddle, blanket, and stirrups are all completely intact and in excellent condition. The saddle still has the belly strap and and the strap that goes around the tail. There is only a stub for a tail, the rest is missing. The platform is still in excellent condition with 95% of it's paint AND the original sticker, which is probably the logo for whatever German company made it. The hooves actually go through the platform and can be seen just underneath. It appears that the hooves may have been re-glued at some point. The horses mane is soft black fur, which most likely is rabbit. It is still lovely and bushy at the front, but shows wear further down the neck, where it was probably held by the child owner who first played with it.
