Organ Grinder Monkey, Dog and Cat Mechanical Bank 1882

Item: Organ Grinder Monkey, Dog and Cat Mechanical Bank 1882
Not a reproduction, this early cast iron mechanical bank was manufactured in Germany by Kyser and Rex and has a June 18' 1882 patent date embossed in the back. Made in the form of an organ grinder's instrument, the bank has a cat, a dog, and a monkey holding a tray on the top. When you place a coin on the tray and turn the crank, the monkey tips his cap and drops the coin into the slot as the dog and cat spin around to the sound of ringing chimes. The bank measures seven and a half inches tall by five and a quarter inches wide by four inches deep and is in excellent working condition with worn original paint. We do not have the key that opens the coin box. Came from a old time collector. 3433-71YPP
