Hand forged and hard to find, this unusual item is known as a sugar nipper or nippers. In the 18th century, sugar would be delivered to the store in large cones. This item would allow someone to "nip" sugar off the large piece for use. A plain pair such as this would either be used in the country store or in a kitchen where guests would never be permitted. As old as these are, they move as if brand new. It measures approx. 9L and 2 1/2W.
