Occupational Shaving Mug Jockey Race Horse Kopenhaner

Item: Occupational Shaving Mug Jockey Race Horse Kopenhaner
Back in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when a gentleman needed a shave, he would visit his local barbershop, where the barber kept each customer's shaving mug, inscribed with his name and often decorated with an image related to his occupation, in a cabinet. This example, inscribed D. M. Kopenhaner above an image of a jockey riding a speeding race horse, indicates that he may have been a jockey or horse trainer. The shaving mug measures 3 7/8 inches tall by 3 3/4 inches in diameter and is in excellent condition with a tight hairline crack along the base below the image. 17317-81QQT
