This is a Penny Brite outfit from the 1960's that is NRFB (Never Removed From Box). It has been in my private collection for over 15 years. This is a RARE EUROPEAN VERSION of the Sunday Best outfit. Pretty much everything about it is different from the U.S. issue. The packaging is totally different. The frame is a different grade of cardboard. The outfit is packaged in a cellophane bag, and is taped to the cardboard backing. As you can see in the pictures, the shoes have come free from the 50 year old tape and are floating inside the bag. The rear picture is the standard Penny Brite picture, but at the bottom it says MADE IN PORTUGAL FOR DE LUXE TOYS, DIVISION OF DE LUXE - TOPPER LTD., HAYES, MIDDLESEX - ENGLAND. The word withdrawn has been printed on top of the Bridesmaid outfit. Inside, the outfit is VERY different. The materials used are different, and the construction of the hat is totally different. The checked material used to make the panties and the trim for the top, as well as the trim for the hat, is a different scale. The check is also a much smaller scale. The box is in excellent shape, with just a few minor defects. The main issue is a tear in the cardboard on the rear. Other than that the box shows minor separation at the corners. The original Sunday Best tag is still present. The cellophane has no holes or tears, so this piece will display beautifully. What an amazing and rare item to add to your collection.
