This wonderful piece of early advertising dates from the nineteenth century. It is a rolling pin, made of ash, hand cut rather than lathe turned, and inscribed Compliments Of R. W. Richards Grocery Peoria, ILL. It was probably a free premium, given to store customers. It measures sixteen inches long by three inches in diameter and is in excellent condition with a deep patina of scratches and wear from years of use. 3439-71EP
