ITEM DESCRIPTION:

Dating from the late 1940s, this neat black Bakelite ashtray is adorned with an image of Bibendum, the Michelin Tire Man, sitting on the edge. Marked Made in U.S.A. on the bottom, it was a free premium, given to repair shops and service stations that sold Michelin tires. The ashtray measures 4 3/4 inches tall by 5 3/4 inches in diameter and is in excellent condition with some surface crazing on the man's chest. It appears to be unused. 1711-81YI
