ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Wonderful early gold painted wooden thermometer new old stock. During WWII many advertising thermometers were made from wood in order to save metals for the war effort. This example dates from that time. It is inscribed Puritan Ice Cream and has an image of a young Pilgrim lady at the top with Pure & Sweet inscribed on a halo around her. Below the gauge it is inscribed Newark's Famous Ice Cream, phone Market 4504. It is in near mint condition. 3951-90WPP
