Back in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when a gentleman needed a shave, he visited his local barbershop, where the barber kept each customer's shaving mug, inscribed with his name and often decorated with an image related to his occupation, in a cabinet. This example, inscribed J. P. Lawson in gold letters above an image of a horse drawn milk wagon, indicates that he was a milkman. The shaving mug measures 3 3/8 inches tall by 3 1/2 inches in diameter and is in near mint condition. 17323-81QQT
