ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This large paper pre prohibition advertising sign, dating from the 1890s, and mounted in its original frame, has an image by illustrator Haskell Coffin, of a beautiful young lady, dressed in black, and is inscribed Brook Hill None Superior in the lower left corner. A brass plaque on the frame is engraved Friedman, Keiler & Co. Distillers. With the frame, the sign measures 35 1/2 inches tall by 26 1/2 inches wide and is in excellent condition with some small areas of staining along the top, several touched up spots of surface flaking, mainly along the bottom edge, and some minor nicks. The frame retains its original finish and has a 4 inch long chunk missing on the bottom front edge as well as a 3 inch long piece missing from the upper rear edge.
