ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This is a unique French pewter shaving bowl. The cut out area is where the bowl slid up to the next of the man to allow the shaving soap and water to catch in the bowl. It is embosses with writing and graphics of a man getting a shave. There is a date of 1640 inside the bowl . No other markings. The bumps on the back side are the indents for the graphics of the men in the scene in the bowl. This bowl weighs 7lbs!! Very unique and unusual piece. Measures 14"W x 12"H x 2"D.
