Pyro Antifreeze Thermometer Tin Sign NOS
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Dating from the early 1940's this tin sign would have been used in your local garage or auto parts store. It allowed the attendant to move the temperature dial to today's temperature and sell you genuine Pyro antifreeze if you needed it. There is also a sliding bar that tells the attendant how much Super Pyro needed to increase protection. On the right side of the sign it shows different automobiles with years and engine sizes so he knew how much the cooling system held. Amazing and vibrant colors on this vintage sign made it stand out behind the counter of a typical garage and demanded your attention. There are a couple 1 1/4 inch scratches between the P and the Y in Pyro, and a couple of 1 inch scratches to the left of the temperature dial. A small nick just above the R in Pyro, and a small 1 inch scratch and two nicks by 'At Normal Engine Heat' on the lower right corner of the sign. Typical nicks on each corner of the sign from use over the years with the upper right corner being the worse from someone damaging it when hanging/removing. Great colors and great condition for a sign that is close to a century old! 178110-WYPP
