1800 Maltby Square Cocoanut Tin Country Store
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Circa 1870 - 1880s square tin that held Maltby's Patent Prepared Cocoanut. It has great Aesthetic style graphics on all sides. On the front is the trade mark emblem, a split open cocoanut with palms and sand dunes in the background. On the sides are oases scenes with palms and dunes and a heron. The top of the tin shows the four medals that were awarded to Maltby's. The cap is inscribed New York Desiccating Co. No. 157 Chambers St. N.Y. On the back panel are recipes for cakes and pies. Bet these were some of the best cakes and pies you ever would eat. The tin is in excellent condition with great graphics and strong color. There is some paint loss on the top and wear on the edges. 11886-00WQP
