ALA Emergency Service Porcelain Double Sided Sign W/Bracket
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
The Automobile Legal Association (ALA) was founded in 1907 to help motorists with legal advice, touring services, emergency road service, emergency medical treatment, bail, and watching over hostile government legislation. Service at garages that sported a sign like this one -- indicating membership in ALA -- included changing tires, putting on chains, changing batteries, starting cars, and towing. Great looking and full of color, this double sided porcelain sign dates from the 1930's era. The bracket is new, but we are including it with the sign so you can display it with pride. This sign shows it's age and use with marks in various places. It has not been touched up, only cleaned. An eight inch scratch and a four inch mark are on one side, and some fine scratches at the top and bottom are on the other. A few small chips to the porcelain are at the bottom edge, on the bottom side, and opposite top. Colors are great, a really affordable, cool sign for your collection. 18019-02WWP
