City Cycle Auto Framed Paper Cortland
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Once horseless carriages arrived, someone had to sell and service them! This great paper ad is from the very early 1900's and features two ladies dressed to the nines in a runabout motorized car. This advertising poster would have arrived rolled in a tube, hence the metal trim at the top and bottom. When unrolled, the user could hang this on the wall using the tab at the top. City Cycle & Auto Co, located at 29 Railroad Street in Cortland, N.Y. advertised itself as The Largest First-Class Garage Between Syracuse and Binghamton. With all paper ads, they are very fragile, and this one has some tearing at the top of the each side, and a small amount in the lower left edge with tape covering it. Some wrinkles in the top and lower right do not detract from the center picture of the ad. We framed this amazing piece in a simple black frame with gold trim. 18070
