While you do see the larger size Colburn's Mustand, seldom do you see this smaller size and in such great condition. This was used in the country store to hold the mustard and when customers needed some, it was dipped out of the container. This one is different from the smaller size one and different lettering coloring. Colburn's Mustard was a staple in Philadelphia. The light tan body has a brick type design with reddish brown and tan leaf border around the top and bottom. One side has color the other plain. I would say that since it was expensive to put color on, they just put it on the side the the customer saw. It does have an two fine hair line around the top as shown. This is to be expected with the country store owner dipping out the mustard. . A piece you can put on the shelf and enjoy the history and attractive in a kitchen. 9984
