ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This unusual advertising sign dates from the 1930s and was originally a free premium for service station customers. Made of wax coated cardboard, it is black with the orange and white Tydol Gasoline logo in the center on both sides and was designed to fit in front of an automobile radiator, resulting in faster warm ups and better working heaters during the cold winter months. The sign measures 12 inches tall by 19 1/2 inches wide and is in excellent condition with minor edge and corner wear, a 1 1/2 inch crease in an upper corner, and a small area of surface loss, easily covered by a dime, on the lower edge. 17154-81IT
