Abbottmaid Ice Cream Sixty Anniversary Plate
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Wow what a piece of history here of Abbottmaid Ice Cream in full color and of a past time when Ice Cream was enjoyed in block form. This I believe to be trivet dish from the 1920's to maybe 1930's. It measures 6.5 inch in diameter and just a knock out. Background of cobolt blue with a block form of ice cream. There is a knife in the picture used to cut the block of delicious Abbott Dairy Company ice cream. Besides advertising their 6th anniversary there is a note that it was In sealed Pint Packages Only. Marked on the back Lamberton China. The Lamberton Works first opened in 1869 operating for several years before selling in 1888 to Thomas Maddock, whose family had been craftsmen and decorators for the Staffordshire Potteries in England for generations. While owned by the Maddocks, Lamberton Works produced some of the highest quality domestic and commercial china in the world.
