Gil Elvgren Pinup Cowgirl Ollie Hammond Steak House
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This rare Gil Elvgren pinup calendar top dates from the 1940s and advertises Ollie Hammond's, a steak house with several locations in Los Angeles that was open twenty-four hours a day. The image is of a scantily clad cowgirl donning a pair of chaps. What is so rare about this is that they had glitter added to the poster in several places, including the outline of the horse's head, her buttons and lots on the chaps, and edges of boots. You never see this on a Gil Elvgren Pinup. The calendar top has the original metal strip with original cardboard hanger. It probably had a calendar and was removed to just show this lovely cowgirl . It measures twenty-four and a half inches long by sixteen inches wide and is in good condition. Does have with a little pape loss in the lower corners, two small holes from previous hanging in the Hammond Steak House and closed tear repair approx 2 inches. We framed the piece and it has a plexiglass front for shipping. Ready for your den or man cave. 15942-61EWT
