1910 Coca Cola Motor Girl Ink Coke Blotter
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Made of soft absorbent paper, ink blotters were common in every home and office in the late 1800's and early 1900's. In 1885, Charles Murch patented a way to attach printable paper to blotting paper, and companies were able to put their name on these desktop advertisements, like this amazing 1910 Coca Cola ink blotter. This blotter features the lady collectors call The Motor Girl, as she is behind the wheel of her horseless carriage with a bottle of Coca Cola in her hand. The ad touts Coca Cola as Delightfully Carbonated and So Easily Served. In the lower left corner, this piece is marked 1910 The Coca Cola Bottling Co. and is in amazing shape. This blotter was never used, probably put aside when needed next. It has two small creases on the blotter side, which could be part of the blotter paper, the Coca Cola side is perfect. 18053-02TQP
