BLATZ CHEWING GUM 40 FULL MATCHBOOKS 20s GRAPE & PEPPERMINT NEW OLD STOCK NEAR MINT SUPER RARE. Here is an almost full case of very rare items. Blatz the brewery had to stop making beer during prohibition. During that time they began to manufacture other items such as near beer, juices and chewing gum to keep the factory running. These other products weren't manufactured after prohibition was repealed. From the 1920's is an advertising new old stock near mint 40 full matchbook of Blatz chewing gum with grape advertising on the front and peppermint on the back. These were made by the Diamond Match Co almost 100 years ago. The staples are a little rusty. The colors are bright as the day they were made. You can look far and wide and chances are slim to none that you won't find one these in bad condition without the matches nevertheless 40 new old stock in the case box. One Blatz gum wrapper has sold for over $50 recently. These must have been kept sealed somewhere for all this time. A cross collectable for the brewery / gum and matchbook collector.
