Shoe Store Calendar 1910 Kessen Bros Cincinnati
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Beautifully lithographed in brilliant colors, this embossed die cut cardboard calendar was manufactured by the Kemper - Thomas Company in Cincinnati and has a sweet image, bursting out of the center of a tambourine, of a little boy wooing a little girl on the garden steps. The little boy has a sailor suit with large bow and straw hat. He holds what looks like a cane. The little girl is in a breath taking red dress with ruffled sleeves and holding a rose. It has a wooden broken board at the top that acts as a privilege panel, inscribed Compliments of Kessen Bros. Shoe Stores No. 1176 Harrison Avenue, Cincinnati, O. Around the outside of the tambourine are what look like apples. Deep embossing on this piece with colors that cannot be produced in any print now days. A January, 1910 month sheet is attached to the bottom. The calendar measures about 18 3/4 x 11.5 tall and is in excellent condition with some edge wear, mainly along the top edge, and two repaired tears at the top. The piece has been examined and and reframed. This piece and many of our new listings are fresh to the market and have been in a collection for many years.
