Two 1969 Commemorative Covers Festiniog Railway Wales UK
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Here are two commemorative covers from the Festiniog Railway (located in Wales, UK) for Fairlie's Patent Double Engine No. 7 Little Wonder Built in 1869. The first cover is postmarked September 1, 1969 by the Festiniog Railway Company with the cachet illustration on the far left side of envelop. The cover is franked with four Festiniog Railway cinderella stamps. Envelope measures approximately 8 x 4.25. The second cover is postmarked September 15, 1969 and franked with one Festiniog Railway cinderella stamp. Marked as a first day of issue. Also measures 8 x 4.25. Both envelopes contain a double-sided information sheet on the Festiniog Railway and #4472 Flying Scotsman. Both envelopes are in good used condition showing its age by age-toning/tanning, surface wear and corner tip creases. The September 1st cover has one stamp (shilling) that has the upper left corner of stamp scraped away.
