ITEM DESCRIPTION:

Unusual one gallon tin with it's original cardboard box that held Stanolind Liquid Paraffin Heavy White Mineral Oil, a product manufactured by Standard Oil Company of Indiana. The tin is yellow with black trim at the top and bottom. It has black and red lettering. The box has the Standard Oil Co. emblem on the side and Standard Liquid Paraffin inscribed on the front. From some on line research, I have determined that Stanolind was used primarily as a laxative, although it must have had other uses to warrant the gallon size container. The tin is in excellent condition with minor nicks, scratches, and discoloration and measures 10 1/2 tall 5 1/4 square. The box has wear on the edges and water stains and smudges on the surface.
