Loews Theater Porcelain Parking Sign New York Model T
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
One of the original Big Five theater chains, Loew's Wonder Theaters had five lavish movie palaces in New York. Four were opened in 1929, and one was opened in 1930. All five are still standing today, and this neat parking sign dates from the early 1930's that was used to show movie-goers where to park their vehicles! It has a beautiful green background with a large white arrow and white Loew's Theater letters. Inside the arrow is a generic Model T automobile, which was the most recognizable car during that time. Some minor chips around the outer lip of the sign, with six original brass grommets for hanging. A 1.75 inch chip is in the upper part of the arrow is the only flaw we can see on the face of this sign. Very rare to find these signs, as they did not make many of these signs. 18731-QQPP
