Pennants were a way to remember a trip or destination and were so very colorful! Much easier to display than postcards, pennants were always triangular in shape and had many different sizes to fill your wall nicely. This one features a 1970's open wheel race car speeding towards the word Indianapolis, with Home Of The 500 above it with the colorful flags that are displayed during the race. The pennant measures twenty-five inches long by eight inches wide, and has the very typical 1970's florescent colors. It is marked 1974 in the lower part of the pennant, and has a bend in the middle of the word Indianapolis and thumb tack holes in the upper left corner and on the point. Some wear on the point from age, and it appears the fabric tassel ends on the left side have been cut. Very colorful piece that is almost fifty years old! 18828-WT
