Victorian Cast Iron Toilet Paper Holder with Serrated Cutter
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
I guess the age old question of which way does the toilet paper roll sit in the holder depends on the type of holder you have! This Victorian cast iron toilet paper holder is different because the roll of toilet paper sits in the holder and the paper must come from the front of the roll in order to tear it properly. On the top is a curved piece of metal that rests over the paper roll so it does not jump out while you pull the paper. A very sharp tin serrated cutting edge pivots and allows the user to tear paper when needed. You have to remember toilet paper was not as soft, nor was it perforated when these holders were used. It measures six and three-quarter inches wide by five inches tall. The sides feature some eye catching ornamental design, and it is painted in gold with some minor wear on the finish. A wooden dowel has replaced was was there to hold toilet paper in. We have a few other toilet paper holders, please search our store! 18988-QTP
