Steam railroads produced lots of ash, and the attendants needed a way to clean the railroad cars easily and quickly for the passengers. This turkey feather duster was used for that purpose! It measures twenty-eight inches long by fourteen inches wide, and has a wooden handle with a paper wrap below the feathers. The paper wrap simply says Railroad and Made In U. S. A.. Many of these dusters were produced by Hoag Duster Company in Monticello, Iowa. This one appears to be very clean with just some very minor wear on the outer edges. It has been used a time or two, but not very much. Very nice addition to your railroad collection, or just to display in your home! 19035-IT
