Royal Crown Cola began from a dispute over volume pricing. Claud A. Hatcher believed he should be entitled to a volume discount from Coca Cola, as his grocery store purchased such large volumes of syrup from Coke. The route salesman said Not a chance and would not budge on the cost. Hatcher vowed to never purchase Coca-Cola again, and Royal Crown Ginger Ale was invented. This very nice Drink Royal Crown Cola thermometer features a yellow arrow that outlines the thermometer and stands out nicely against the red background. Best By Taste - Test is in yellow letters below the arrow. On the bottom curve, it is marked 512 on the left side, and Donasco 11-51 on the right side. Some very minor chipping around the edge of the thermometer, with some slight crazing in the paint about 1/2 way up the right side. It also has a small scratch between 20 degrees and zero.
