Distler Santa Fe Battery Operated Tin Train Set Boxed 40s50s

DISTLER SANTA FE 18 PIECE BATTERY OPERATED TIN TRAIN SET IN BOX 40s-50s. Here is a nice rather large Distler train set made in Western Germany 70-80 years ago. The trains are nice and clean as well as the battery chamber. The engine looks great as well as the cars. One car has a bit of a push in of the tin on one end. All tin construction. It says 18 pieces but there is more than that, 24 curves, 2 straight plus the 3 trains. 29 pieces in total. I put batteries in but, could not get it to work. Looks like all the wires are connected and the engine has free moving parts. Maybe I am not doing it right. It does have the instruction sheet. The box is 2 feet long. The bottom of the box is nice, the top has wear and tears and missing some side and end pieces. Has the price of $3.79 on the top. I have other toys and advertising for sale.
