ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Booklet titled "Bijur System Electric Lighting and Starting Equipments" by Scripps-Booth Co., Detroit MI and Bijur Motor Lighting Co., Hoboken NJ. From the booklet: "The Bijur starting and lighting system on Scripps-Booth "Luxurious Light" cars is designed for 12 volts and consists of a single unit or motor-generator. This single unit is chain driven from the crank shaft and is therefore in operation whenever the gas motor is in operation." No date noted in book but Scripps-Booth cars were manufactured between 1913 - 1923. Booklet measures approximately 4.75" x 6.75" with 12 pages. Booklet is in good used condition. Covers and internal pages are secured by staples and staples are rusted. Covers show surface wear with some paper loss along spine and lower right corner. Spine split along fold at top. Internal pages show surface wear, soiling/stains and corner tip creases. Appears all pages are present and no writing noted.
