GREATER NEW YORK & GOETZE'S RED STAR BUBBLE GUM 2 STICKS IN 2 SEALED PACKS 20s NM NEW OLD STOCK. Here are an ultra rare pair of chewing gum packs from around 100 years ago. First is Greater New York Chewing Gum peppermint flavor. There is 2 sticks in one pack which is highly unusual. Each stick is sectioned into 4 squares, a child could break off a piece while an adult could choose to break off a piece or chew on the entire stick. A unique concept. I only know this since I have a broken piece and cover and can see it. You will not get the broken sticks. Your stick has the paper on one end has some slight paper tears, the other end is fine except there is the slightest bit of wear. The outer covering is colorful and excellent. Made by Mansfield Co around 1910 or 1920. This was probably 1 cent back in the day. Over one hundred year old double stick of gum that is not broken. Paper is brittle as to be expected. This is a very hard brand to find. Next is Goetze's Red Star Bubble Chewing Gum which is fruit flavored. There is also 2 sticks in one pack. The paper ends are still sealed but, both ends have some tears from age. The outer covering is colorful and excellent with very light edgewear. Made by the Baltimore Chewing Gum Co in the 1920's. This was probably 1 cent back in the day. Over one hundred year old double stick of gum that is not broken. Paper is brittle as to be expected. This is also a very hard brand to find. Goetze's is still in business making Cow Tales, their chewing gum business stopped in the 40's. 2 sticks in a pack is extremely hard to find.
