When you wrote with a fountain pen, you always had an ink blotter close by to absorb the extra ink from the letter you were writing, but what about the ink that seemed to blot on the fountain pen? A fountain pen wiper, of course! This celluloid advertising piece would have had felt attached to the back of it and would have sat on your desk or table while you wrote your correspondence. Advertising Waterbury's Cod Liver Oil, this piece shows two bottles, one with Compound, and one Plain. With a magnifying glass, you can actually read the labels of the bottles, that is how good their printing was back then. The celluloid front is in great shape, and two of the three metal tabs are on the back. It is missing the two part felt on the back, it should have been a red piece directly behind the celluloid, and dark blue on the rear. 18056-02TR
