Made in Germany and dating from the early 20th century, this unusual leather bound pocket notebook has chalkboard like hard black pages that can be wiped off and reused. The embossed front cover is decorated with an image of children playing in the snow, framed by a school house and is inscribed Notes C. D. Kenny Co. It was originally a free premium, given to customers of the Baltimore, MD. based wholesale grocer C. D. Kenny Company. The notebook measures 4 7/8 inches tall by 3 1/8 inches wide and is in good condition with edge wear and stains on the covers and writing on all of the pages.
