ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Advertising trade card for school shoes manufactured by the C. M. Henderson & Co., Chicago IL. Front of card is titled "Spelling Class" and illustrates a teacher with group of various age children. One boy is holding a sign "warranted not to rip" while another boy drops a sign "all solid." The chalk board has list of sizes for both girls and boys shoes. Reverse reads as follows "If you wish to purchase a shoe for your boy or girl that will stand the wear and tear of every-day usage, that is made of honest leather throughout, and on common-sense ideas call for Henderson's school shoe made of both bright and oil grain, and known everywhere by the trade mark of the Little Red School-House, found on the bottom of one of each pair. None genuine without it. Beware of imitations." Card handed out by customers of W. B. Schofield, Merrill, WI. Trade card measures approximately 4.50" x 3.00". Advertising trade card is in good used condition. Card shows surface wear, bumped corners, edge nicks and soiling/stains.
