This rare calendar has a wonderful lithographed illustration of a little black pickaninny boy, sitting on a watermelon, trying to kiss a wide eyed little black girl and is inscribed Compliments of The Vaughn Calfskin Co. Pickaninny Calf Salesroom 21 and 23 Lincoln Street Boston, Mass. Tanneries, Peabody, Mass. It was a free premium, given to customers of the leather tannery and has a partial month pad, starting with August, 1902. The calendar measures about sixteen inches tall by ten inches wide and is in excellent condition with some repaired creases in the lower corners. It has been nicely framed for display and protection.
