ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This super rare, perhaps one of a kind celluloid over cardboard sign dates from the early 20th century and was manufactured by Bastian Bros. in Rochester, NY. It has a cutaway image of an engine piston with a couple of gapless rings and the inscription Johnston Pistons And Rings Installed Here. I have not been able to find any information about this manufacturer on line or otherwise. The sign measures 6 tall by 8 wide and is in excellent condition with wear in the corners and minor stains around the mounting holes at the top. The sign originally had a string or chain so that it could be hung. Included with the sign are a pair of vintage pistons that are similar in design to the cutaway on the sign. 14221-41UPP
