ITEM DESCRIPTION:

Security Mutual Life Insurance bank. These banks were given to customers after purchasing their life insurance policy. The back of the bank reads "This bank is loaned you to help you save coins to pay your life insurance premiums. You retain the key. The Insurance Company will not be responsible for any coins deposited therein or the disposition thereof." Bank is steel covered in red faux leather. The locking trap on the bottom has had the lock removed and there is no key. The binding of the "book" bank states that it was made in the USA with patent no. 1749655. That patent number was issued in March 1930. Size is 3�...�" wide by 4¼" tall and 1" deep. Condition is very good with wear to the top and bottom edges and no lock or key.
