ITEM DESCRIPTION:

HOSTESS CUPCAKES LARGE CARDBOARD ADVERTISING 2 FOR 5 CENT SIGN 44X32 1930's. The sign shows a Hostess baker holding two cupcakes on a on a tray above his head. Has some edge wear and tears. There is a larger piece missing at the bottom. The sign reads "Hostess Cupcakes, Hostess Cake, 2 for 5 cents, The Popular Picnic Dessert". Sign is 44" X 32". This sign was made to be hung in a store that sold Hostess products way back when. It is made of thick cardboard and wasn't supposed to last over 90 years, these signs were thrown out when the promotion was over. The sign has been preserved with cellophane and a rigid backing for over 25 years. You just don't see too much vintage advertising from Hostess. This item is too big and delicate to ship, it must be picked up in East Windsor New Jersey 08520. Hostess went out of business a few years ago. This sign is vintage and very rare.
