ITEM DESCRIPTION:

1930's Hostess Large Cardboard Advertising Sign "Now At Your Grocer's Hostess Old Fashioned Shortcake" Sign is 44" X 32". This sign was made to be hung in a store that sold Hostess products way back when. The sign is in very nice condition, light wear, has some edge wear and a few nail holes. I think it's in excellent condition since it's made of thick cardboard and wasn't supposed to last almost 90 years, these signs were thrown out when the promotion was over. This sign has great color, must not have been left in a window that had the sun exposed to it. The sign has been preserved with cellophane and a rigid backing for over 20 years. Even has a NRA stamp to the left. You just don't see too much vintage advertising from Hostess. This item is too big and delicate to ship, it must be picked up in East Windsor New Jersey 08520. Hostess went out of business a few years ago. This sign is vintage and very rare. This was purchased at Philip Weiss Auctions in New York many years ago. I have another Hostess sign for sale as well.
