Check out this great looking Metro enamel gas pump plate that is in amazing condition! Metro was one of the many product lines that Socony-Mobil used during the 1940's and 1950's. This pump plate is marked A-M 9-41 in the lower left corner, which translates to Allen Morrison September 1941. Allen Morrison Sign Company was located in Lynchburg, Virginia and produced many signs for various corporations, including Mobil. Measuring 10 1/4 inches long by 5 1/4 inches tall, the corners are rounded with a mounting hole in each corner. The upper left corner has been bent and the paint is chipped slightly. The upper right corner has some surface scratches in the finish that can be seen when the light reflects it. The paint is slightly discolored in a small spot in the upper right corner as well.
