ITEM DESCRIPTION:

The public laundry concept really took off in the 1950s, and many towns had self service washers and dryers available for customers. This self framed metal sign was used by the laundromats owner to post their daily store hours. It features embossed Store Hours letters and embossed figures on the sides. You can see the residual hours from the first owner have faded over the years, and some minor chipping and small bends are on the outer framework. The gloss looks nice on this piece with bright colors and great graphics. It is marked ALD. Inc., 1960 Printed In U.S.A. in the lower part of the left side. 20153-RPP
