ITEM DESCRIPTION:

License plate or Tag toppers were used from the 1930's until the 1980's when they evolved into the license plate frame that wrapped around the entire plate. This type of tag topper bolted to the top of the rear tag and acted as a reflector for other drivers to see when the car was sitting still. It has Drive Safely on the top half, and Brilliant Bronze on the bottom half. Brilliant Bronze is also on each side in a small circle. This appears to be a new old stock item, it does not look like it has ever been bolted to a tag, just some minor wear in the outer lip. The back has some liquid cement residue where has been displayed in a collection. Super neat piece from days gone by! 19185-QWT
