ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Presenting a tin lithographed P.S. 23 School house still bank. Made in the U.S.A. by U.S. Metal Toy Mfg. Co. in the 1950s. Some of these banks were made with holes in the roof to display lollypops as a counter display. Those banks did not have a trap in the bottom and children would have to remove the base to retrieve their savings. This one was made as a true bank with a removable trap. P.S. 23 is represented in a winter scene with the teacher by the front door ringing her school bell. Base is 5.5 inches by 4.5 inches. Overall height is 4.5 inches. Condition is excellent with bright colors and minor scratches. Company logo on the left side of the bank.
