ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This tin friction drive toy car comes in its original box and dates from the 1960's. It was manufactured by Modern Toys in Japan. The toy is a version of a Brass Era open touring car with right hand drive and is the same body that Modern used for their lever drive cars but with a simpler friction drive mechanism. This example is missing the hand brake lever on the side and a vent off one of the front lights. The box lid has a cartoon image of a family riding in the car as a dog runs beside it. The car measures about four inches tall by six and a half inches long, and, other than the missing pieces, is in excellent condition with some scratches in the front seat and minor surface wear on the wheels. The box is in good condition with three tape repairs on the lid. 9537-RT
