Sunbeam School Crossing Double Sided Die Cut Wood Sign
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Way before school zones, this Sunbeam Bread sign stood out to drivers and let them know there was a school up ahead. Vibrant in color, this die cut sign is wooden and mounted on a metal legged base so it can be moved easily when school is not in session. A local Sunbeam Bread distributed these to local schools to promote Sunbeam white bread, complete with Miss Sunbeam holding a loaf in her hand. The wooden sign is silkscreened, so it dates from the late 1940's to early 1950's. On the back it says "Thank You Holsum Bread" on a yellow background. It is made of ¾ inch plywood with a metal brace behind her head, just in case it cracks. On the back of her hand, her pinky finger is cracked, but you cannot see it from the front. On the front of this fabulous piece there is some slight chipping on her right eye and on the neckline of her dress. Some minor chipping on the outer edges along with some chipping at the bottom of the sign. Great piece of history that is in amazing shape for the age of this piece. Do not wait long on this one, you will see it in your buddy's collection! This is an oversized shippable item. Please contact us for shipping info. . 18424-WOTP
