Pullman Car Shops China Souvenir Ashtray/Matchholder
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Marked "Made in Germany", the manufacturer/importer of this souvenir ashtray/match holder combination is unknown. The front features the south section of the Pullman Car Shops in Pullman, Illinois/IL/Ill and famous for their sleeper cars. This was probably made during the time Robert Todd Lincoln was President of the Pullman Co.(he retired in 1922). The gold is heavily worn, there is a small crack running both ways from the hole in the center of the match holder but no chips or crazing.
