Aladdin Coffee tin from The M.J.B. Co's, San Francisco, Los Angeles,& New York. Max J. Brandenstein was an early San Francisco coffee grower who in 1899 with his 3 brothers established the Max J. Brandenstein Company. A few years later because of sibling rivalry and in order to disguise their German-Jewish heritage the firm's name was changed to The M.J.B. Company. This old tin has scratches and smudges but all in all is in great displayable condition for a tin of its age. The nicely aged patina lid on the can has two after purchase small ventilation puncture holes, The inside is clean but does have some tarnishing. The blue and navy colors and Aladdin graphic are very sharp and imposing. This is an excellent example of one of the heavier weight earlier turn key lid cans. This was also the beginning of vacuum packing which also makes this particular tin a great find for the serious collector.Circa, early 1930's, dimensions 5 tall x 4.25 diameter
